Paju - Provence Village and Heyri Artvalley

1. Provence Village

Beginning with a chic French restaurant in 1996, Provence Village is a themed village with a shabu-shabu restaurant, a garden restaurant offering delicious grilled meat, a Provence Living Gallery decorated with beautiful interior designs, an Herb Village full of sweet fragrance, a Fashion Gallery, a European bakery and cafes.




 Each unique shop is connected to other shops in the village. Each shop is an independent unit with a unique design concept.






The Living Gallery offers shops selling ceramics, flowers, and herbs, while the Fashion Gallery consists of shops offering clothing, accessories, and interior design items.




There are lots of photo spots.









There are some photo spots where Korean famous drama of "My Love From Another Star" was filmed at this village.




 2. Heyri Artvalley

This village was designed as ‘the book village' linked Paju Publishing Town in 1997. But in the processing of the project, lots of artists in various cultural fields joined it. And the concept of the village was expanded to 'cultural art village'. Now above three hundred seventy members: writers, artists, cineastes, architects, and musicians are building their artistic spaces, houses, work rooms, museums, galleries.

A. Museum
     There are more than thirty small or medium-sized museums in Heyri. The fields are like these: international folk instruments, toys, butterflies, magazines, traditional foods, Buddhist art, figure paintings, stamps, films, film posters, etc.

 







The Museum of Modern History of Korea shows streets, shops, living lives, schools, etc.  in 1960s ~1980s through miniatures.











B. Gallery
    There are six galleries in Heyri. In advance, around thirty galleries will be built up to hold shows of paintings, crafts, and ceramics. Galleries in Heyri has characteristics in terms of natural environment and the closeness to artists.





C. Art shops, Antique shops

     Around one hundred art shops and antique shops will keep articles of contemporary artists and antiques in stock to sell and exhibit.
D. Photo spots
     There are lots of photo spots in Heyri.
