Due to the climate change and El Nino, there is short rainy season this year and thus it result in shortage of water. There is 1~2 typhoons during summer. Normally August is very hot season for the weather and holidays.
At late Jul, almost schools give summer holidays. Thus as many parents want to do with their kids, lots of Koreans go to mountain and sea for their holidays.

4. Winter (Dec - Feb)
Winter is very cold as if we were in Siberia. Even though we expect to fall snow in Seoul, it is seldom (around 4 times in a year). But there are lots of ski resorts in eastern area of Korea. Actually we Koreans have traditional events before winter, Namely, we would make Kimchi (fermented vegetables) from late Nov to early Dec in order to eat in Winter. Nowadays most Korean families have separate refrigerators different from general refrigerators only for Kimchi.
