Even though I had heard that spicy anchovy salad is very tasty, I had never tried as it should be kept fresh. During my trip in Tongyeong in Aug. of 2019, I found the best anchovy specialty restaurant.

The spicy anchovy salad is sweet and sour, which enhances the taste. It is soft and crispy and does not smell fishy at all. Soft anchovies are best served with vegetables.

Crispy and savory fried anchovy is a favorite food for children and women.

Kimchi Jjige, which is a combination of plum anchovy and kimchi, goes well with the taste of plain anchovies and a zesty and spicy soup.
