Seoul Yangnyeongsi is one of 4 traditional Korean medicine markets and was first opened in during the reign of King Hyojong of Chosun Dynasty. I would like to recommend to visit Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Museum to understand Korean traditional herb medicine and traditional treatment of illness. The museum is helpful to understand the herb medicines in Yangnyeonsi. It is located at the second basemnt of the building that big Korean flag is laid on the building walking 2 minutes from exit 3 of subway Line 1 Jegi Station. (Take a subway Line 6 in Eungam Station to Bonghwasan, transfer to Line 1 in Dongmyo Station, and then get off in Jego Station -the 2nd stop from Dongmyo).
Seoul Yangnyeongsi is next to exit 2 of Jegi Station of Line 1 and opposite side of the museum. There are lots of stores that sell herb medicine such as roots, leaves, branches of trees, and so on. When we exit from the subway, our noses are full of unfamiliar smells from herb medicines.
Nearby there is Gyeongdong Traditional Market that sells various traditional cookies, dry fish, meats, ginseng, many kinds of nuts and so on.
